Loan me your sundial…

My main advice when it comes to personal development has, and always will be…’Time Management’.

Successful people master time management. Time is flying, and that’s a reality, but yet there are those amazing people that we know who seem to make time ‘stand still’. They manage to balance their day in the most admirable way and it leaves us dumb struck, that we cannot even achieve half of that in 24hrs.

Well, don’t stress, the next 3 simple tips are going to be your passport to many successful hours;

  1. Make a timetable.

This sounds like putting you back to your school days, but I do mean physically plotting your day on a time-schedule template. Break it down carefully, covering all the important things you wish to do and achieve daily. You can keep it to weekdays only, but my advice is, include the weekends as well. Never forget to add recreation, social and relaxation. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to do it mentally, but for now, write it down..

2. Wake up early.

There’s no better way to feel great than to get up as early as possible when, starting off your day. It’s the ‘early birds’, the people we bump into at the supermarket, that seem so energetic, fresh and ‘super human’. It’s because they have already covered most of their important tasks 2 to 3hrs ahead of us, probably between 5am and 7am. They now in the cool and calm, relaxed, ‘what can I do next’ mode of the day and yes, they continue to learn and grow in new knowledge and skills throughout the day…

3. Learn to say NO sometimes.

We all need to sometimes, just chill and do nothing, or just go out without any real purpose, but to do so often, really prevents one from serious productivity and progress. It’s when you about to complete your task for the day, that a friend or family member may invite you for coffee or to simply hangout. Socialising is important, but, yes, it can take control of your precious time before you even realise it…

So, if you want to be successful, time management is KEY, give it a try ASAP…
