Erase it or leave it…

What impedes progress for many when it comes to personal development is the over thinking of past events in one’s life. I read an interesting quote recently “..My brain likes replaying dumb things that hurt me..” Well, we may agree with the quote or not, but for certain, over thinking of negative things from one’s past does cause mental fatigue for many.

The human mind is amazing and can store billions of bits of visual images. Memory IS in images, and the many years of stored up data can resurface and be triggered at any time.

So how do we deal with or erase negative memories?

Well, a long time secret in the world of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), is to literally train the mind to take the negative image/memory and to ‘trash it’, make it insignificant, or replace it with a positive image. And guess what, it actually works..of course one will have to get guidance from an experienced NLP Practitioner if you suffer from any serious mental blocks, but for the everyday negatives images, just take a few seconds to cast the picture/image in your mind, as far away as possible or cast it aside or behind you. You will notice that after practicing this method a few times, the negative memory gets weaker and weaker until it is literally erased from memory.

So, keep yourself free from past memories that are negative, your mind is a powerful tool, and you are in control of it, so use it, always, in a positive and healthy way…
