So, you feeling down, sad, depressed, not knowing how to handle the negative emotions and moods?
You start to binge, scream at someone, or just ‘hit the sack’, hoping that the feelings will fade away..
For whatever reason you’ve fallen into this situation, the following 3 tips are sure to thrust you out of it;
1. Focus on being thankful
Let’s face it, if you can breathe, have a working pair of eyes, ears, hands, legs, have eaten a hot meal today and have a cosy bed to sleep in, then boy, are you fortunate…Thinking about all the favours and blessings you have in your life naturally creates feelings of happiness, security and positivity. Try to think about the less fortunate, the homeless, the destitute and the oppressed throughout the world. You soon will realise that there is very little reason to be sad or depressed.
2. Engage with inspirational media
There are thousands of websites, YouTube videos and books that can really boost your mood and feelings. We are actually quite fortunate in our technologically advanced age, that we have access to such a variety of great material at the touch of a button. Use it to the fullest. A few power packed clips and you’re back to your old positive, happy self.
3. Call a close family member or friend
Sometimes, just a simple call to your parents, siblings or friends can stir up loads of positive energy, laughter and happy memories. The link that exists between people who often care and think about you, is real and has a genuine effect on you. Tap on this treasure of relationships as often as you can.
Remember that these moods and feelings are only temporary, so do the right things, and quickly, carry yourself out of it…
