Stay on the dotted line…

We sleep, eat, exercise, work and relax. Some things we tend to do more of, whilst other things we simply avoid due to various reasons.

It’s often, that we may go off on a crazy diet or change our attitude and behaviour towards aspects in life, fearing that it would ruin us or plunge us into further sadness or failure. And so in the process, we strain our nerves trying to justify and even boast about how self-restraining and disciplined we can be. In reality, many can’t keep up the momentum and they sink back into over-indulgence and ill-discipline creating the opposite effect.

The key,  and I am sure you’ve heard this a dozen times, is moderation in whatever we do. It’s the saviour, the calmer of nerves and the winning formula.

Stop resisting delicacies, tasty meals and afternoon naps. If you are fortunate enough to indulge, do so, but in moderation. Anything that is harmful to body, mind, soul and society, should be avoided at all times, but the little pleasures of life, do part-take in it. Strike a balance that does not leave you with a feeling of deprivation. Go for the pure, wholesome things that life offers.

One may also tend to mistake over indulgence of healthy and wholesome things in excess as the right path to take and that the more we consume them in large quantities, the more benefit it affords us. But this is not true, everything should be done in moderation, be it aspects of soul, body and mind.

So, don’t deprive yourself, practise discipline and moderation, it’s the proven path to success!
