“Don’t think too much, you’ll create a problem that wasn’t even there in the first place” (Unknown)

As powerful as the human mind is, at times it needs to be ‘told’ to ‘zip it’.

How many of us are often exhausted by the way we think? We can’t let go of things, we analyse things to the extreme, or we want situations to be resolved in our minds to  absolute perfection and finality. We just can’t leave issues alone or suspended? In the process we, we push our thinking and brains to a state of ‘over heating’ and tiredness.

Do we really need to? Is life supposed to be so taxing on the mind? Certainly not…We choose to take this route and, yes, it can stop!

Here’s some thinking ‘tools’ to cure you out of exhaustion:

Have more confidence in yourself

Many a time, over thinking takes place when we feel insecure or unsafe. We assume that thinks are going to turn out bad, so in the process, we over analyse every situation. Learn to tell yourself that all is fine and that every thing will work out well. This will place calmness in your ‘inner voice’.

Forget about what others think

We tend to over think when we worried about what the next person would say or do. Carry yourself in a confidant and respectable way when amongst others. Feel secure and comfortable at all times. Do things with the correct intentions and with sincerity. Developing the quality of sincerity is a quick cure for over thinking. It eliminates any thoughts of needing to prove oneself to others.

‘Talk to your ‘inner voice’

It may sound crazy, but reminding your mind to ‘cool’ down and be calm really works for many people. Telling yourself to stop analysing things really does shift the current thought pattern. You don’t have to say it aloud, but in a calm and assertive way. Train yourself to think differently and be able to move on to more positive and beneficial thinking. Remind yourself to think of things that would lead to more knowledge and skills and engage yourself in those activities. This will allow the over thinking of unimportant and troubling things to fade away.

So, use these simple ways to keep your thinking healthy and in the ‘right gear’ at all times!
